To get the good rates you pay 120 USDC a year upfront. Fine if you spend a lot but a real commitment for a card that then became unavailable. Ouch
Earned STRK back on spending funded by the Starknet Foundation. Not guaranteed forever but was a solid perk while active. Enjoyed it
The Ready/Argent wallet itself is genuinely good and my funds are safe. But the card program collapsing is a real blow. Hope the relaunch delivers
The whole appeal is I never hand my assets to a custodian. Funds only leave when I tap. For a self custody believer it was the most direct option on the market
The 3% only applied up to $5000 monthly spend, max $150 a month. So the headline rate is capped like everyone else. Read the limits
At $333+ a month spending the Metal tier’s upgrade to 3% cashback and 0% FX easily beat the annual fee. Good math for a regular spender. Worked for me
Lite tier charges 1% FX which eats the tiny cashback on any non USD purchase. The free option quietly costs you abroad. Metal or nothing
The issuer Kulipa winding down killed both Ready and Solflare cards. Tying the card to one fragile issuer took the whole thing down. Structural failure
On the free Lite tier it’s just 0.5% and the 1% FX always exceeds that on non USD spend. So below a certain spend you actually lose money. Do the math
The 3% STRK was funded quarterly by the Starknet Foundation and explicitly not guaranteed permanently. Building on that was always shaky. And now it’s gone
Formerly Argent, and the self custody design is excellent, my USDC stays in my own Starknet wallet until I pay. The Metal tier’s 3% and 0% FX were great while it ran
Ready’s wallet heritage shows, no seed phrase and social recovery make it approachable while staying self custodial. Clever engineering. Impressed
They say they’re rebuilding on new infrastructure but no confirmed date, issuer, network or terms. Total limbo. Can’t recommend until it actually returns
The card wasn’t directly FCA authorised, it relied on the issuer’s regulated framework. When that issuer wound down, well, here we are. Regulatory fragility
Availability was limited to UK and EEA with vague expansion promises that never really materialized before it paused. Narrow reach
Everything runs on Starknet which is fine tech but ties you to that ecosystem’s health and the specific issuer. Concentrated risk that bit users
