Not a bad option for ADA users

The Cardano Card looks interesting primarily for those who already use ADA. I like the support for a large number of crypto assets, Visa, and mobile payments. There are different card tiers, so you can choose the appropriate option. At the same time, it’s worth checking the current terms for your country before applying.

Finally, a convenient way to spend ADA

I like the concept of the Cardano Card: you can use crypto assets for regular purchases via Visa, and support for various assets makes the card much more versatile than just an ADA card. A special plus for Apple Pay and Google Pay. For a Cardano user, this is one of the most interesting options right now.

It’s not as simple as it seems

Everything on the site looks very attractive, especially the promise of up to 8% cashback. But the maximum conditions are not available to everyone, and paid plans can significantly change the economics of using the card. I would like more transparency regarding the actual costs and limits even before registration.

!!!

The idea of spending cryptocurrency through a regular Visa card was what I liked the most, but the product itself still feels somewhat raw. I especially didn’t like that some of the interesting features depend on the tariff or are still in development. Before signing up, I had to carefully study the terms.

About the product

Cardano Card overview

Cardano Card is a virtual debit card built into the Cardano ecosystem and aimed at ADA holders and users of stablecoins on that network. It lets you spend crypto day to day with automatic conversion into fiat.

Key terms

  • Card type: Prepaid Visa (virtual)
  • Supported currencies: ADA, USDT, USDC; Cardano network
  • Where it works: EEA countries
  • Fees: depend on the issuer; full fee list on the issuer’s website

Key features

The card is prepaid — you can only spend what you have loaded, and it is worth remembering that those funds sit with a licensed issuer rather than in a self-custodial wallet. Specific limits, pricing and regional restrictions can differ depending on your country of residence.

How to get the card

  1. Install the Cardano Card app and create an account.
  2. Complete identity verification (KYC) with an ID document.
  3. Issue the card in the app and top up its balance.
